Prints Galore

So I was taking a wee break
From the cold
Playing harmonica for folks
Saturday. Outside station.
Always upbeat here.
Families, inquisitive kids
Treats country style.
Produce, cheeses, bread,
Pies, sausage, honey, artisans.
That last point is germane.
Art. Paintings, leatherworks
Candles, needlepoint.
Here was a concession
So masterful.
Prints of country life nearby.
Mennonites, buggies and baseball.
Northland scenes
Placid deep blue waters, rock immovable
Coniferous green.
Brilliant stuff
On a par with Peter Etril Snyder.
Painter of Waterloo fame.
This one in Mississauga
Peter Ripley, cancer stricken, 79 years old.
Brother now manning the shop.
Loyal loving labours
Coming in from Brantford.
Of course I bought a print.
A beauty.
Stayed. Talked for a while.
Prayed, yeah prayed.
Almost a new friendship forged.
And Brother plays harmonica!
I played him a tune.
