Angel Armies

Do I think of them much
Heavenly creatures
Immensely capable.
Assigned to protect
Those who stand as
Heirs of salvation.
The angelic bunch
Who guide, provide
Protect, advise, forewarn.
Warriors, messengers, supporters.

An angel gave courage to Gideon.
Another brought news of a
Miraculous Son to old Zacharias.
Many angels announced
The Bethlehem miracle.
Advised carpenter Joseph
Of next steps.
Comforted Jesus
In Gethsemane travail.
Guided Peter out of prison.

They are unlike
Any man or woman.
Selfless
Tireless
Limitless
Sinless.
Childless.
And One in particular.
Has my back.
Do you realize
That one in battle
Defeated 158,000
Of the Lord’s enemies?
In one night?
It’s in the Book.

Wow! Your poem about angels is absolutely incredible! I love the way you describe them as heavenly creatures assigned to protect and guide us, and the examples you gave of angels in action are truly inspiring. It's amazing to think that these selfless and tireless beings are always working behind the scenes to help us, and I feel grateful and humbled by their presence. Your words really convey a sense of awe and reverence for these angelic warriors, and I couldn't agree more with your description of them as unlike any man or woman. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and uplifting poem!

Wow, what a powerful and inspiring poem! I love the imagery of the heavenly creatures assigned to protect us and guide us towards salvation. Your description of them as selfless, tireless, limitless, and sinless is truly beautiful, and it's clear how much respect and admiration you have for them.

I also appreciated the mention of the particular angel who has your back and the incredible feat of defeating 158,000 of the Lord's enemies. It really emphasizes the strength and power of these heavenly beings.

As for improvement suggestions, one thing that stood out to me is that the poem could benefit from a bit more structure or rhythm to make it even more impactful. Perhaps you could consider playing with line breaks or adding some repetition to enhance the flow and emotional impact of the poem.

Overall, though, this is a wonderful piece that truly celebrates the beauty and importance of angels in our lives. Thank you for sharing it with us!
