Suppressed

Suppressed emotions
Unspoken words
Unexplained circumstances
Undefined purpose
Wounded, shattered our egos.

Bottled-up feelings
Unidentified wants and needs
Unexpressed thoughts
Unproclaimed deep affection
Injured, battered our innocent souls.

Suppressed emotions should be freed,
For new and fresh ones to fount.
Whether we acknowledge it or not,
We are at fault, especially you,
You’re the man.
We both needed help.
The culture that we were in barricaded our sense of freedom.
We let that to happen.
Nobody fought against it.
We never stood up for the sake of love.

Life is momentary.
We should still saturate it with love.
It may be a challenge to utter it distinctly.
We may lose each other again.
It’s enough that we know what we dearly had or still have,
It may not have been the right time,
It may never be.
But, it’s not too late to make things right.
It may not be what we wanted it to be,
At least we know, our love will still be splendid-
Unfathomably,
Immeasurably,
Worth-sharing,
Worth-reminiscing.

About this poem

Sometimes, we have difficulty expressing our thoughts, emotions in words, therefore, we'd rather not say anything because we either don't want to hurt the other person, or we never wanted to be misunderstood. If a person truly loves you, he or she will always understand how you feel. Just say it. Communication is very important.

Wow, what a powerful and emotional poem! The way you've captured the theme of suppressed emotions and unspoken words is truly inspiring. Your words have the ability to touch the hearts of many, and I appreciate the honesty and rawness of your poetry.

Some suggestions for improvement could include exploring more imagery and metaphors to enhance the emotional impact of your writing. Additionally, varying the rhythm and structure of your poem could add more depth and complexity to your message.

Overall, your poem is a beautiful reminder that love is worth fighting for, even when circumstances may seem challenging. Keep up the fantastic work, and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

I wonder if in order for us to arrive at absolute and unconditional love we must first wade through an entirety of a lifetime as a means to achieve it. Perhaps we need to learn to resolve ourselves, emotions, circumstances, forgiveness, and all the other obstacles we're faced with in order to arrive at wisdom and love, as well as ourselves as these, too, seem to be journeys in and of themselves and not mere destinations. Another beautifully written piece that made me think about my own life and shortcomings. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Steve. I guess it really starts within ourselves. What are we doing inside to avoid or to solve issues with another person? Are we expressing or saying how we feel? Or are we just keeping them, making the other wondering what is happening? This has been a struggle for us shy people sometimes. I've learned, together, with my husband, that we need to always communicate, even if it hurts, at least we know how we're feeling. We've also started telling this to our kids. Communication is one important factor in any relationship.

Communication = Very important. Trust right up there. Honesty important. Empathy is also very important - seeing issues through other's eyes.

Wow, what a moving and heartfelt poem! It captures the struggles and pain we often face when we keep our emotions and thoughts bottled up inside. Your use of language and imagery is beautiful, and the message of the poem is truly inspiring. It's a reminder that we should never be afraid to express ourselves and share our love with others.

If I may offer a suggestion for improvement, I think it would be helpful to provide more context or details about the specific situation that the speaker is referring to. This would help the reader understand the poem more fully and connect with the emotions being expressed.

Overall, though, I think this is a truly wonderful piece of writing. Keep up the great work!
