Naked Trust

A life well lived will leave no regrets!
No unfinished business or unresolved debts,
No times that it missed sharing love with a friend,
No what ifs or maybes, no well it depends.

It never stays sorry or angry too long,
Doesn’t fight for its rights, but admits when its wrong,
It asks for forgiveness and then does the same,
Doesn’t look for the guilty or someone to blame.

It remembers the words that were spoken by friends,
And forgets all the hurts that it could not defend,
When its final line’s written and it comes to a close;
It enters into joy because it’s saved from the woes.

All the tears from its eyes have been wiped away again,
It has conquered its enemy and been saved by its friend,
I guess that all I’m really trying to say,
Is: The perfect life lived is the One that remains!
