Don’t Turn in Haste

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

One turn made in haste in the morning
And that was all she wrote
No one needs a degree in physics
To climb into that boat
The simplest and the brightest
Are often led astray
It’s the way of all halfhearted men
They can’t learn or obey

The wisest and the bravest men
Are those who live for God
At daybreak they all find His peace
And comfort in His Word

So which way do you want to live
In darkness or in light?
The foolish choose the darkness
And the wise men do what’s right
