Greater Strength

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Lord my strength is greater
Than it ever was before
I only want to say that,
You’re the One that I adore!

Perfection in your beauty
And the grace that is your heart
I want to let the whole world know
So, help me Lord to start!

Before I knew you, I tried to
Have all these on my own.
But all I ever reaped was
All the sorrow I had sown.

You’ve never asked a lot, in fact,
For me you gave your life.
So, I could one day be washed clean
And be your loving wife.

The lights reflecting off the lake
Is now what I have seen;
How could I ever say to you?
My brother is unclean!
