Fly Like the Wind

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

When every house in town is closed
And all the doors are shut
When you look for a fallout shelter
Just to save your butt
Remember that the end is near
But it has not come yet
And ask yourself. Why do I fear?
Who am I running from?
Do not be afraid of man
His weapons won’t prevail
Though Hades follows close behind
The horse of Death is pale
And you won’t fall prey to him
If you’re walking in the light
The Word of God and all his saints
Ride horses that are white
Their steeds are swift and they can fly
They thunder out of heaven
But you won’t see them coming
Till the end of that last seven
