Recompense

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The righteous come and the righteous go
But they don’t flitter to and fro
They go where the LORD commands
And they know what the Lord demands

God holds them in his loving arms
He’s guarding them; they won’t be harmed
They only seek to do his will
Because he’s the One who pays the bills

And he will pay The Susans too
Because he just loves all of you
All righteous labor earns a profit
And you don’t have to try to stop it

It will cease all by itself
And when it does you’ll have your health
