A Life In Progress

A Life In Progress

I may not have enough time left,
To learn what it's all about,
But I've made lots of progress,
Since the day I first set out.

Before the monster went away,
I didn't know that he was crazy.
Then I had to relearn it all,
Now all that came before is hazy.

I never meant to cause any pain,
Despite how it may have looked,
But I often didn't notice it,
Until my goose was cooked.

I'm happy now that I understand,
Where these scars originated,
And even though I finally see,
My story is still complicated.
