Suffer

Most of us will suffer in life
With our health problems,
When you are old and grey
A test of a lifetime !

But when was the last time
You suffered for the cause of Christ ?
The Bible of old
Like Job, Paul, Peter or the disciples !

But you might say
We don't do that anymore,
We live in a modern society,
To each his own is the answer !

The church preaches an easy believism
Just believe and everything will be OK,
God will bless you, just believe
Christian's life is a charm, don't sweat about it !

You are wrong my friend
It's not will you, you will suffer for Christ
If you speak His Word
The world might rebuke you !

Be it ever so humble there is no place like home
A Christmas dinner reading the Christmas story,
One ridiculed me with  swear words
Was reading he Bible a bad thing ?

So how many doors
Have you knocked on
To invite people to church
Is that very hard work ?

We love to tell the story
Of  people dead in their sin,
But you are just as bad as them
To keep your mouth shut !

So are you still playing house,
Cutting the grass, planting a garden, wash the cars ?
What about your neighbor
Does he know Christ ?

Hey live and let live
You can't talk religion and politics,
Be safe, don't suffer
Talk about the weather !

So in life you don't suffer even a tad
Why should our Heavenly Father let us in ?
There's a highway littered with good works
Be prepared for one Hell of a ride !
