Two Visitors

Douglas H. Mc Clintock 1934 (Sarnia, Ontario)

When I lost my wife
My life fell apart
Twice on a mental floor
And had to start my life over again 1

Knee transplant  and passed out
For 3 days, my life  was in ruin,
Lost my car license
Had a very bad bicycle accident !

My ill health  was winning the battle
I only just got by
But my family became earth angels to me
A  dads is a dad no matter what !

Could not walk very far,
Barely see or hear
My pain was here to stay
Thanks life what did I do wrong ?

One day I had a visitor
A man of the cloth, no less
Talked the usual chit chat
And he left just like hat !

Imagine he did not pray for me
I guess I was not worth it at all
Once I was a keen cyclist but no more
But now just a has been !

Soon afterwards another knock on the door
It was Lloyd Wark from my church
He told me, let me in. I want to pray for you
I know you need some Heavenly help !

To think for a moment
A genuine man  praying for  me and holding hands
To think  he really cared enough
For an old geezer like me !!

Two men saw a different  situations
One  saw a hopeless  man and took off
The other saw a soul in need
If only to  get me through  the day !

Thankyou Lloyd, you are in Heaven now
Sometimes the good die young,
You had a heart of gold
And expressed it to me that day !
