Stupid Stuff Said

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

If I can only take back,
The stupid stuff I had said.

'Okay.
And...'

'But then,
If I could do that to make it happen.
Would anyone notice?'

'Noticed you were or are stupid?
Or just said stupid stuff?
Either way,
Today what difference would it make?
And...
To who or whom,
Did you leave that impression made.
To take back dumb stuff to them said.'

'Do me a favor?'

'Sure!'

'If you suspect,
I am having one of those...
Personal reasoning conversations?
And my eyes appear,
To search for an answer...
Having nothing to do with you,
Being involved.
I won't feel offended if you ignore me.'

'No problem.
And when I look at you,
Shaking my head back and forth.
Then fix my eyes on you not to blink?
Please don't assume,
I think you to be stupid.
Or say some of the most,
Dumbest stuff...
No fool would say out loud to themselves.
Whether in private.
Or claim to be,
In a personal reasoning mode.'

'Ooo...
We bite when bitter, don't we?'

'You have one valuable asset.'

'What is that?'

'You look perfectly normal.
Until you spoil that perception.
By opening your mouth.'

'Hey...
If it's there to be had,
Why not flaunt it.'

'Stupidity?
Or the 'personal reasoning' thing?

'Ssshhh.
I'm in conference!
