Opposite Roads

Sherry Caayupan 1980 (Davao city)

A neverending prelude of morrows flock,
Verging into splinters of treachery;
Amiable hands that seemed frivolous,
A mockery to love's gestated nights;

A vast tomorrow speaks in gerontic words,
The humble man's frow denuded under a raging fire;
An affluence of pricked fluctuations,
Of love's embarking separations;

Aloft in the depth of this man's disillusion,
Ghaists of yesterday's earnest entreating;
A venture into hapless sorrows,
Turned vague in embraces for only seconds;

A merge between love's enduring memoirs,
Reluctant of the combining vow's scrimmage;
No mark nor hatred loiter in this room,
A love's grieving rampage.
