Done Running

Done running.
Away from emotions.
To pretend not to feel,
The reality of them felt to have.
Done from roles to play.
To appease and portray,
Expectations anticipated...
By others who live,
Wearing disguises to hide...
Lies told to tell to themselves.

I am done to stop running,
From being less but more...
Than who,
God has created me to be.

And that is not someone attempting to seek,
To be an imitation.
But to be me the best I can.
Comprehending to understand,
I am not perfect.
Just a work of God in progress.
With this blessed to know,
Everything I want to wish...
Will not always be my way to have it.

No matter how much I pray or demand,
For easier tasks without obstacles to face.
Or perceive myself to be bold and brave.
When I know better not to pretend,
My knees do not shake...
At the sound of God's thunder.

'Dear Father in the Heavens above.
I think You misunderstood my requests,
To be demands.
I apologize.
I was having a bad day.
And,
Well...
I really didn't mean for You to think of me,
As being ungrateful.
