We Try

We try.
With a consciousness to understand.
And common sense to use,
Done to do at our best.
Even if that may not be accepted.
Still we try.
From a different perspective.
Hoping that step to take is correct.

Although,
No matter what is done we do...
Is still not enough.
To leave an attempt,
Understood.
From someone else's point of view.
Who may or may not try at all.
But would rather remain,
The one to stay...
Unchanged with a looking away.
Repeating the same excuses to blame,
Those who try.

Yet those who try,
Everything they can to understand...
Hoping to be understood.
Are often the ones easier to accuse.
For who they are and what they do.
Just for the purpose,
To find something wrong.
Never right to accept.
Regardless.
If their own life to live,
Gets no respect trying to do their best...
To juggle their own troubles.
Jump through hoops and fetch,
Whatever it is that is thrown to catch.
And even out of breath,
Not a word heard to hear expressed...
Is with respect given!

We try.
With a consciousness to understand.
And common sense to use.
Done to do at our best.
Then one day it happens.
We try less,
Not to be understood.
Or care to understand.
Anyone.
To get to know them better.
Than they do themselves.
Left to leave.
Done to please ourselves.
With this to do to comprehend,
No matter what we do to try...
For others.
And not all.
Is seldom enough,
To hear a word of appreciation.

'Why are you acting as if you so tired?
From what?
You don't do nothing else.'

'I had to take care of my own business.'

'It's about time,
You did something for yourself.
And why are you late? Again!'

'Thank you!'

'For what?'

'Opening my eyes...wider!'

'Well...
You're welcome.
What you should do is get more rest.
God knows you do nothing else.
Oh...
IF you have Time.
And don't mind.
Here is a list of things I forgot to get earlier.
From a list of things I gave you an hour ago.'

'We try to do our best
But our best to do is not enough, is it?'

'WE?
We who?'

'Give me the list...'

'What...did you call me?'
