Analysis of going without

grandmother used to tell me
it's not the number of friends
that really counts
grandfather used to tell me
whatever you put in it
they can't take back out
mother used to make me dream of dying
father left me too high flying
the wife, she walked the plank
right out the cuckoo's nest
she said she f*ck*d the four of them
for the family's best
my son told me he'd never leave his mother
my daughter didn't care one way or the other
my last ten girlfriends provided me with a support center
they said, “Why are you always so depressed?”
when I overspent and they went with another lender
now, here I sit alone at home for nearly ten whole years
the maddest laughter couldn't quench my thirst for tears
blunt force trauma, staring at the man in the medicine chest
I'm knocking out my teeth with a mallet just for hate's sake
always come in second best to myself before all the rest
