Analysis of Eternal Peace

How can a house seem empty
When she never walked down the stair?
How can a room be lonely
When she wasn't ever there?
How can my life be empty
When it was something she didn't share?
Years of separation
Because of a disease,
And because she is at peace
Doesn't make the hurting cease.
The face I wear is proud
To hide a pain that no one sees.
I still don't understand
The when, the why, the how?
I only know she's gone
And I can't see her now.
God, please grant her
Eternal peace and rest
Because she is my mother
And she deserves the best.
