Analysis of Attention

The clown cries on the New York City street
corner, but it's only a morph of his previous
act. Behind the makeup, the same villian
resides, he's only smarter this time.

The child wins the science fair, beaming upon
the podium with the shiny medal in hand and
her gaze locked upon beaming Mom and Dad.
Her only pleasure in winning is theirs.

The dog barks at the couch potato to avert
his gaze from the tube for a momentary toss
but his victory is short lived. Soiling the
carpet becomes more effective.

Mom sits you down to map out a trip you
might plan in the future, just to make sure
you're informed. After a fight you agree
because Dad works all day and night and the
dog is with your sister. You leave that
night, though you could stay. I love my
Mother and I need to pay her more attention.
