I did not see it coming

She hugs me like a woman just happy to be
loved and it makes me joyfully weak. I'm
beginning to sleep deeper when she is there
than when she is not, though I did not ask
for it. The more I do nothing to end my
involvement, the more I get involved, and
the less ability I have to find a reason to
stop. But, it is good. She has the ability
to love and take care of me, like my mother
did, with an unfiltered love so fragile I
dare not disrespect it by peddling anything
but the blinding truth. When I speak of
my feelings for her, she covers her eyes.
And when I let go of my reservations I can
make her smile so genuine. It is like a
ray of sunshine, a true honor to bring to
the surface, that smile. I do believe I
will follow my heart on this one. I do not
know why not.
