Analysis of Aim For The Sun

At youth
In the tenderness of little
Filled with aspiration and dream
With eagerness for the title
Coated with chocolate and cream
We aim for the sun
With passions that burn
In all innocence
In joyful effervescence
We dwell on the ideal
Assuming the world perfect
We strive with a zeal
Leaning on prospect

Yet as we grow
our minds glow
to the harshness of real
the neediness of a skill
the struggle to make meal
to the payments of bill
persistence be the catalyst
victorious be the finalist
in the journey, we walk
in the fortune, we bulk
now we crush bone
to gather our own
riding on horse-back
to make our mark

there are downs and ups
there are lows and tops
decisions carrys weight
faith expresses fate
the starters run steady
the go-getters ever ready
to birth new things
to make things happen
striving and seeking chance
operating and creating their dance
to be in the number
and never in the slumber
it's all about a legacy
doing things legendary
to be in the finish line
with names on sand's time

David Abraham

Here, an opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to ALMIGHTY GOD for giving me the gift of poetry, it is indeed a beautiful thing especially the positive energy of expression and the passion. I discovered my gift of writing and poetry quite early but only much later in my life did I start to put it to use. I was quite active in the old poetry.com and won one poetic pin, several poetic accolades and one of the poets of the year in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Presently, am writing my second unpublished inspirational book and also putting together a poetic book due to be published later in the year. email address: mypoeticcareer@yahoo.com.
