Analysis of Tossing Quarters

Luis Enrique Jimenez Jr. 2000 (Los Angeles, California)

When my brother passed,
I said I would quit-
it was never a promise-
I could see through my shit.

I have nothing but time,
I could do it my way-
corner store to buy beers,
and toss quarters all day.

Here I get treated well-
where you found me before,
you have found me again,
and you'll find me once more.

But soon I will begin,
to finally leave this place-
my coins are falling flat,
I am losing your embrace.
