Analysis of Nothing’s forever

once I was alive, floating frameless
the perfect portrait in this gallery of life.
once happened, the pictures fell,
the moment I changed,
I went wrong in phase orange.

I didn’t think gracefully.
nothing left to be done,
nothing to be mad about,
just grief in my straw cage,
never to greet her again.

I remember everything she said, needed,
thrown away under the bed,
time and days changed & so have I,
man-made, but she was original.

I had to go home alone, just like everything else,
nothing lasts forever,
I reviewed the first time I met her
and asked the question, “hello, is it me?”
rushing through like slow seconds,
until the day she told me nothing lasts forever,
I turn the lights off and try to fall asleep.
