Analysis of It Is Unlikely

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

As of yet.
And in these fast moving days we live.
Nothing is guaranteed.
With a giving it permanence.
To witness this miracle,
Received to achieve.

And it is,
Commonly known to accept...
Death to come,
Unexpected.
Is part of this life we live.
No one has of yet...
Declared themselves to be immortal.

It is not often,
To hear...
Anyone who has survived,
A near death experience.
Incapable to breathe.
Without the assistance of a machine.
Remembering to look back.
To personally have such memories.

It is unlikely that someone like this,
Would be in the midst with others...
Discussing in debate,
Who is unqualified to received...
Equal pay or entitlements.
Because of the diversity,
Of their ethnic heritage.
Since that bridge to have crossed it,
Has left them with more meaning.
Than to be involved,
In petty conversations.
With those,
Who perceive themselves to be...
Gifted and blessed with immortality.

It is also unlikely,
That the ones who find themselves...
Creating division.
And conflicts with everyone else.
Living distant from listening.
Or paying attention,
To the limited time they are given.
Will suddenly awaken from a mirage.
With a doing to be aware and observe,
Their temporary visit...
On this planet called Earth.
As their exclusive oasis.
Isolated for themselves.

But unlikely as it is,
We are creatures of a selfish existence.
Limited to impressions to make.
And pretensions to keep,
Accepted and approved.
For no other reason but to claim,
Things to obtain and possess...
Are threatened to be taken away,
By those who have less.
Yet...
The Earth,
Will always remain...
The benefactor of it all.

And...
Believe this or not,
Whatever it is we claim to own...
Or possess to make,
An image that impresses?
Becomes buried and returns to dirt.
Although...
For whatever the reason is,
In our minds kept to believe.
Is that power to have over others.
Yet difficult to maintain or prove.
When all that power to obsess it is left,
Behind us all.
Incapable to verify,
Who threatened to do what.
Why and when and for who,
To waste time choosing to chase...
Mindless foolishness.

'No no no.
We must remain respectful.
To those still living,
With visions limited to delude and fiction.'

'There is a Biblical scripture that says,
The Meek Shall Inherit The Earth!'

'But...
What about the ones,
Among the elite, wealthy and rich?
Does what they value too becomes dirt?
And Earth to treasure its worth?
What about their possessions?
And impressions made?'

'Does that make them intelligent?
Or wise?
To document as their legacy.
With an abilty to use common sense?'

'I don't know.
I have yet to see or observe,
That as a miracle to witness it!'
