Storm Warnings

People who are threatened,
By storm warnings.
In their paths coming.
To choose to ignore the signs approaching.
Getting closer to their locked tight doors.
And these are often the very same people,
Who refuse to believe and accept...
What they pit into their mouths to digest,
Has a direct effect...
On their mental well-being.
And physical health to go neglected.

Listening to pay attention,
Unfortunately...
Is not entitlement many rush to protect.
This to do would mean being responsible.
And accountable for what we do.
Like patriots pledging allegiance,
To become the best citizens we can.

Even the ones,
Confessing their own experiences,
With ignorance to regret.
Get no respect for this to address it.
Nor can they paint a picture with dots,
That connects one's stupidity to ignorance.
Leaving grief with no relief to get.

Yet...
There are those who expect empathy.
Or something said that expresses sympathy.
And this achieve they do receive.

'Have a good day and enjoy the weather.'

'Have a what? And enjoy a who?
What kind of response is that?'

'Better than the one you gave to me.
When I attempted to save you from misery.
You must be suffering,
From a convenient selective memory?

At least you can not accuse me,
Of being inconsiderate.
Or disrespectful to your anguish.
