Analysis of The Life I Had

Tammara Cappellano 1958 (Vancouver, Wa)

Did you ever think your life was fine?
You held the world inside your hand.
There was nothing that you couldn't do;
And your life... was simply grand?

You knew that you could never fail
And all you dreams came true.
Until one day you realized;
That you were just a fool.

I found that I was confident,
I thought that I was strong.
That I could accomplish anything;
Just to find that I was wrong.

Life had so much promise,
A new adventure every day.
I thought success would surely come;
And I'd never end up this way.

I am alone and by myself,
And will die the very same.
No one will remember me,
Or think of me by name.

No one said that life is fair;
Or that I'd sail along,
But I thought the life I had;
Was great and made me strong.

Nothing turned out like I planned,
and I see my life has changed.
Nothing that I thought I had,
Would ever be the same.

I'd have absolutely everything,
And life would be so great.
Who would have thought the opposite?
That this sadness is my fate?

If second chances could come true;
I would change who I've become.
And maybe you would find me
And I could be loved... by anyone.
