My prayer to God

Tammara Cappellano 1958 (Vancouver, Wa)

If God could grant me just one wish;
I know what it would be.
I'd ask him to return my love...
The man who married me.

I'd tell him that we lost our way;
That you just walked out the door.
That all I had to love for's gone,
Please bring him back once more.

And God would look upon my face;
He'd wipe away my tears.
He'd tell me it will be okay;
That there's nothing left to fear.

He'd look up to the bluest sky;
And bring you back  to me.
He wouldn't make things perfect though,
Because love is work you see.

He'd only bring you back to me;
So we could try again.
To love each other as a whole,
And unite us as good friends.

He say that if you love me;
You won't give up the fight.
No matter how hard times may be;
You'll stay and make things right.

God said if he just will not stay;
And keep on loving you,
That God knows what's inside my heart;
And that my love is true.

And that is why I don't believe,
That if I were to pray,
God would stop to hear my voice;
Or the tears I cry each day.
