Analysis of The Dance

Tabitha J. Bryson 1973 (Indianapolis, Indiana)

The scent of love
whispered on the wind
such a gentle warm breeze
I think of you again.
I listen to its melody
drifting softly by
I miss you so much my friend
though I don't know why.
Is it because I really love you
is it because I actually fell
is it because your heart knows my melody
and can sing it so well?
My soul feels your rhythm
in time, we hum along
a sensuous rhythm lost to time & space
a dance where only you & I belong.
For love is in the air
on this crisp spring eve
a lovely melody of time & chance
and it's all about you & me.
So let's get lost in the rhythm
& dance our lives away for
what have we of this life
but to love & dance & drift away?
