Bus Stop

Tabitha J. Bryson 1973 (Indianapolis, Indiana)

Losing twilight
comes the dawn
the birds they sing
a sad, sad song.
Felt the breeze
icy winds blow
fooled by sunshine
at what I know.
Tree and branch
without its leaves
flurries move in
hard to see.
Breath it's seen
in the air
leaves my body
without a care.
Standing still
though I shiver and shake
notice the time
the bus is late.
To go or to stay...
that I'm pondering
I decide to walk
aimlessly wandering?
Down to the next stop
that'll kill some time
as I wait for this bus
on the number 8 line.
