Analysis of Cozy Comfort
Greg Lanier 1962 (Atlanta, GA)
Life can be such an awesome event
When you realize your last dollar is spent
And those dreams are not quite close enough
To wash your boat past the rocky stuff
But you smell excitement
And you blow your nose
And you feel a tingling in your toes
Grab a blanket and toss the pen
Cozy comfort as the walls cave in

About this poem
Don’t know what inspired it. Was unemployed, but hardly broke. It was one of those still-half-asleep mornings before the coffee kicks in where you just go with it.
