Analysis of Cold
Tabitha J. Bryson 1973 (Indianapolis, Indiana)
Whom will keep me warm
when the icy winds blow?
When will love find me
have I no home?
When laughter abounds
will it bring me to tears?
Will I be able to love you
and abort all my fears?
Will the summer sun
beam down upon my face?
Will I hide in darkness
a total disgrace?
Will I learn to let go
to a brutal past?
Will my abusive family
have the last laugh?
Will I support myself
in this newest adventure?
Will I silence my heart
forcing a censure?
Will warmth ever cradle me
granting peace of mind?
Or will my cold, cold heart
remain frozen in time?
