I just kept seeing myself. Imagining the rain pouring on my bed as I try to sleep. But it's always there to remind me, half breathing.

I've shared this with a few people brother. Not trying to be kiss ass or anything. But this has been the best one I've read from other amateur writers on here so far

"After the persona of my life has turned
to ashes and dust and I have departed this plane
gaze into the expansive sky
sensing the swiling of the winds
and listen to me whisper inspiration through
the soothing flow of the evening breeze"

Damn. Best line

I was sitting. Reading this out loud to myself. Still taken back by the analogies you use. Brother. This would be a good poem to use to start things out. I have several favorite lines from this one. And if I'm honest, you've inspired me to write something tonight. One of the best ones I've read so far.

ashes to ashes. dust to dust. we always return to the earth as ash and dust. I'd rather be in the sky like you. I like this brother. I hope to be in the sky when I die as well.

I know what you mean brother. Lots of things in my life that make it this way honestly. I hope you get a chance to read my new one brother. Would appreciate your opinion.

Romantic. And I'm hopeful you'll get an answer soon. I like the structure that you used for this one as well.

It's the way you describe things that makes your work captivating. I'm telling you, the details that you build with the words you use shows your talent. Hell yeah.

And throw down its diamond wings"
The last two lines just as good. WOW.

I liked it. The first two lines entice you to keep reading. I also liked how you structured it. Even though not in the standard poetic form, it flows nicely.
