That Haunting Lavender

Sebastian is long gone
the spirit of Lauren is still there
her haunting aroma of lavender
still lingers through the dark silent rooms

The new couple weren't aware
what they were in for
when they made that fateful decision
to rent the old apartment on the west side
they heard rumors of it being haunted
yet being youthful and ambitious
they were not phased

Sharon noticed first
Shadows hoovering in corners
noises from nowhere
and a gradual air of malevolence
was beginning to build

An aspring artist
Sebastian became engrossed
in his painting
with his ultimate goal
being to produce a masterpiece

The apparition silently observed
amid the shadows
as he executed his vision on canvas
the aspiring painter eventually became aware
of her sensuous presence
and an intoxicating aroma of lavender
permeated his senses

Tensions escalated between Sharon and the specter
more sinister sounds
restless nights consumed by unsettling dreams

Then that afternoon a pale face makes a startling appearance on the television screen
preceded by the resounding crash of her favorite bookshelf
as the snow continued to fall outside
she realized there was a rival in phantom form
and someone had to go

Sebastian dismissed his girlfriend's concerns
far too immersed in his potential prize
and considering moving was not an option
unaware of how he was succumbing to Lauren's power

It just happened one day while she was shopping
Sebastian was showering
warm water gushed over his face
the room imbued with hot steam
as erotic visions of the red haired seductress
slowly invaded his thoughts

Overcame by sheer lust
the artist began to sexually gratify himself
as the warm water pulsated
over his bare skin
every muscle tensed in pleasurable anticipation
as he climaxed the potent aroma of lavender
placed him in a trance like state
fully aware that she was there watching

One year later----------------------

After their separation
Sebastians ambitions for fame became a reality
his portrait of a female phantom dancing
under the ivory colored moon
surrounded by rich violet flowers
entitled That Haunting Lavender
was purchased by the highest bidder

Leading to:
a lavish home
a promising career
with a new perspective on life
and an unopened pack of lavender incense

Winter time again
the bachelor found himself
passing through old familiar territory
on a snowy Tuesday afternoon
he paused in front of the former apartment
currently vacant

With his snow covered hair
he peered towards the front window
as he could sense her gazing out
pondering when would he return
to her

Someday--------------------------------------
