Voices of Slumber

As the thud on the pillow makes a runway
‘Life’ that takes off travels light years away

Windows, two to the world, turn towards the universe inside
The day that slipped by withers off into the woods so deep..

An endless plight stretches the chores
            Jumping from the sky seems like a breeze
Gasps..  Shrieks.. Gasps..
            Shrieks.. Gasps.. Shrieks..

A lame me dances in merry
            And a dumb me sings away to glory
Taps.. Jingles.. Taps..
           Jingles.. Taps.. Jingles..

A sad me laughed out so loud
            That the bubbly me poured out tears
Sobs.. Giggles.. Sobs..
            Giggles.. Sobs.. Giggles..

A darling’s face is fast fading
            And round the corner is an Angel unassuming
Moans.. Groans.. Moans..
            Groans.. Moans.. Groans..

Too warm is the light from the hugs of wonder
Thus many more are the voices of slumber!
