Horror & vampire poems set #002

DEVOLUTION: RETROGRADE EVOLUTION (I)
Life devolving
Into forms too monstrous,
To even contemplate.

A DIRE AWAKENING
A dire awakening
From wishful dreams of hope,
True terror prevails.

THE GREATEST FEAR (II)
The point at which fear
Could grow no greater; every
Nerve end throbbing.

GRINNING, FLESHLESS SKULLS (II)
Grinning, fleshless skulls
On bones picked clean of meat,
By terrors yet unknown.

THE HAUNTED NIGHT (II)
A town lost to fear,
Of dark, faceless figures,
That walk the haunted night.

HAUNTED SPECTRES (II)
Haunted spectres wait
Deep inside a sunken crypt,
Howling at the night.

THE HELL HOUND (I)
Evil snarling beast
Breathing fire and brimstone,
As it hunts by night.

HELLISH FIENDS APPROACH
Inhuman squealing
Emanating from nearby:
Hellish fiends approach.

HELL’S RIDERS
Motorised demons
Closing on their quarries,
Pistons pound like heartbeats.

HIDEOUS MONSTERS
Hideous monsters
With clawed hands like demons,
Covered in horns and spikes.

HORNED, FACELESS DEMONS
Horned, faceless demons
Bat-winged and scaly,
Like prehistoric monsters.

HORROR LURKING NEAR
On the brink of terror
Insane terror gripping you,
Horror lurking near.

A HOUSE OF DANGER
A house of danger
Where evil creatures reside,
Don’t you go on in!

THE HOUSE OF DEATH
In a house of death
Evil slinks all around you,
Unseen in the dark.

IMPOSING STONE STRUCTURES (I)
Imposing structures
Made of stone and weighing tons,
Built to please old gods.

STRANGE DIZZY SPELLS
Strange dizzy spells
Send you into darkness, where
Evil fiends are waiting.

STRANGE FACES
Visions beset you
Your mind is afire;
Strange faces surround you.

STRANGE SACRIFICES
Strange sacrifices
Performed for pagan gods;
Crawling, hopping demons.

STRANGE, SHIMMERING LIGHTS
Ghostly lights shimmer
Out on an unlit moor as,
Elder gods awake.

STRANGE TRAVELLERS
Immense expanses:
Strange travellers travel down,
Strange lanes and byways.

STRANGE TRAVELLERS SLINKING
Strange travellers slink
Along the dark, lonely trails,
Blending with the night.

STRANGE TURNS
Strange turns warp your outlook
Make you take up evil,
As a way of life.

STRANGE WHISTLING SOUNDS
A strange whistling sound
Calls you out into the night,
To meet dark strangers.

THE SUPERSTITION (II)
Beast of great evil
Knowledge held from science,
Branded superstition.

A SUPPURATING MASS
Suppurating mass:
A gelid putrescence, which
Threatens the whole world.

THE SWAMP
Primordial swamp
From which great monsters crawl,
To terrorise the Earth.

SWINE-VOICED CREATURES (II)
Swine-voiced creatures romp
Around outside your window,
Trying to break in.

TERROR FEEDS EVIL
Evil feeds on terror:
Cringing humans’ prayers bring
Strength to the Undead.

TERROR PERSONIFIED
Horrid pig-like squealing
Something awful nearing,
Terror personified.

TERROR WALKS AMONG US
Terror walks among us
Watched by unseen eyes,
We cower in our fear.

THE TERROR WITHIN
Terror within you
Is permeating your life;
Dreams become nightmares.

WAILING IN THE NIGHT (III)
Dreadful sounds of wailing
Ringing out in the night;
Shoggoths hunting prey.

THE NIGHTMARE JOURNEY (II)
Journey through a land
Of volcanoes and fire, and
Mounds of grinning skulls.

A WILD THING POISED (II)
A wild thing poising
Readying to leap at you,
Springing for your throat.

A WILD, WOLF-LIKE THING
A wild, wolf-like thing
Lurking in the underbrush,
Creeping up on you.

YOUR NIGHTMARES ARE REAL
Something is waiting
In the darkness of night:
All your nightmares are real.

UNKNOWN MOURNERS COME
Unknown mourners come
Draped in funeral garb,
To Mirror the living.

VAMPIRES CREEPING
Vampires creeping through
A dark and lonely bedroom,
Feasting on the lost.

VICTIMS OF THE AWFUL NIGHT
Victims of the night
Set upon by awful fiends,
Writhing in torment.

AN ALIEN CREATURE (II)
A writhing creature
From an alien world,
Haunts the lifeless Earth.

A TRIBUTE TO EVIL
A red obelisk
Marked with weird hieroglyphs,
A tribute to evil.

TRICK OR TREAT
Witches and goblins
Ride out into the black night,
Plotting evil deeds.

THIS HAUNTED EARTH
Strangers of the night:
Vile abominations which,
Stalk this haunted earth.

THE THEME OF DEATH
Nightmares recurring
Night after night, after year;
All on one theme: Death!

TWILIGHT APPROACHES (I)
Walking to your death
Your life is fast running out,
As twilight approaches.

UNDER THE EYES OF THE NIGHT (II)
Under the eyes of night
Terror stalks dark alleys,
Hunting after prey.

UNSEEN EYES IN THE DARK (II)
Unseen eyes at night
Watching your every move,
Creeping close behind.

UNSEEN EYES IN THE NIGHT (I)
Unseen eyes in the night
Watching you from nearby,
Closing for the kill.

YOUR NIGHTMARES AWAIT
Something is watching
Hidden from view by the night,
Your nightmares await.

YOUR DARK HALF WAKENS
When your good half sleeps
Your dark half wakens,
Committing untold evil.

YOUR DARK HALF
After your good half sleeps
You wake to find evil,
Committed in your name.

ZOMBIES
People parade by
outside your window, at night,
With eyes blank from death.
