Confess

As I sat upon the sill
A sparrow passed and shared a shrill
I followed its flight about the yard
Hoarding the crumbs that we discard
What ho! A cat amid disguise
Perusing the vacinity with hungry eyes
A flash of paws, a swirl of air
A moment of suspended fear,
A furry of enlivened feathers
Precede the predators wasted endeavours
Return o sparrow and converse
For I didn't instigate this feline curse.
