The Beach and it’s secrets

The beach is full, with one spot left.
I pounce to get this making a cleft.
The sky is blue, the ocean’s cool
Whilst an old lady, unpacks her gruel.

My mother unpacks the picnic grand,
My little brother spreads across the sand
With his little pink legs waving about
Just waiting, just waiting, to get out.

My father’s gone to get us cones
As the hot summer’s day goes long, and it groans.
Dear lord, the old lady is at it again
Unpacking her onions making a den!

I gather the sand, for my great tower
To shake away any monster seeking to devour
My brother crosses acrosss the moat.
And laughs and laughs, and gloats and gloats.

For this is not my little pink brother,
This is my older, oh yet another!
His name is Freddie, all big and tall
The only one that makes my sandcastle fall!

The sand comes sadly tumbling down
The sprinkling dust across the ground
And as I hit my brother for wrecking it
He laughs and laughs in a fit

The ocean is oh so much better
When Freddie can not control the wetter
It’s my turn to laugh and gloat
And Freddy is cross, as he has to float!

For my brother does not know how to swim,
Or rather he doesn’t want to, scared of the grim
The secrets underneath the sea
Lies a treasure chest, and a grumpy old chief!

So there you have it, my Summer’s day
I have exposed a lot for today
Before my brother steals this and cries:
“Oh don’t listen to her! There all big lies!”
