Where Have All The Leaders Gone

Where are all the leaders stored?
Because we truly need a new batch!
Those leaders that find accord
With God and country attached.
How did God become so ignored?
How did we become so detached?

Can't you see man's systems failing?
Can't you hear Lady Freedom wailing?
That fine lady, America's Sweetheart
Please, don't break this lady's heart!
When will the world stop it's ailing?
When will they abandon their youth?
Will they ever grow the long tooth?
Will they ever embrace the truth?

Where have all the leaders gone
Like those patriots of days gone by?
Where has all the respect gone
That put pride in our nation's eyes?
Where has all the compassion gone
That quiet often made us cry?

Can't you smell the cities burning?
Can't you feel your insides churning?
Can't you see your children dying?
Can't you hear the poets crying?
When will the world start learning?
Or is it our fate to crash and burn?
Oh Lord, when will they ever learn?
Oh sweet Lord, please help us learn!
