How Can You Ask

How can you ask me if I love you?
How can you question how I feel?
When I don't know how to live without you,
You're the only thing in my life that's real.

Lying here alone tonight missing you,
Thinking of our life that we now share,
Wondering what I did that seemed untrue
To make you question if I really care..

How can you ask the oceans tide,
If it really loves the sandy shoreline?
When all it does is ride inside
Every wave, to kiss it with her brine.

How can you ask the stars above,
If they really love the evening sky?
How can you ask an eagle if it loves
To spread its feathered wings and fly?

I'm sorry if you think my love's a maybe,
I'm sorry that it's not clear to see.
But more than that I'm sorry baby
That tonight, you're not here with me.

All I can tell you is that I love you,
More than the clouds love the sky,
And I surely need your love it's true,
More than that eagle needs to fly!
