Twice a Week

You have that look in your eyes again.
Twice a week for two years of the same thing.
That fire is happening again,
and I feel my body start to sway toward you with purpose
Fires are running together as the music plays accordingly
The steps it takes to get you close to me are timed
I count each step preparing for the next move
You move your head side to side
and still Im the only one in front of you
It's hard to coordinate with you,
some of your moves are foreign to me
But I remember where we left off last time and I thank my brain for the reminder
my palms are sweaty because this is only the second time Ive attempted this
I feel like i have to be perfect, but I'm still learning how.
I wonder if you are proud of my second attempt,
or will you compare me to others?
Your mind races with the music,
your hands fly out on either side grasping for help
You stop in your tracks, as do I
You look at me and suddenly move as to reach out for me,
I put my hands on your chest and
I pause and turn away, but you real me in to you
I would turn my head but u throw beauty in my face.
My face if flushed, and my hands turn sweaty
I fall in a circle back into your arms as you lean in close
I can smell your skin as you recall my purfume...
Your passion involved makes me wonder
If your serious about this or if your not quite sure
If I'm the right partner for you
Ive never felt a sense of confusion before
I try to follow the moves your laying down,
But your too perfect for me
I feel us drift off one another,
as we start to back off, you turn around and
bend slightly toward the floor
I stop, turn toward you, heart stopped
My head pounds and the soul within me waits
you get up slowly as I put a foot toward you.
Again the slow walk toward each other
Your skin glistens under the light as the drama subsides
You reach out for me and i decide
I've come to far to turn around
I want your desicion to end. I just don't know when that will happen
I'm in a daze now as my breathing starts to slow
you bring me close again and dip me down
You kiss me as the music slides into the background
We lift are heads up as we look into the mirror
Practice for the salsa has gone well and I can see your pleased
especially when I hear you say see you next week for the salsa
