The Aftermath

The Aftermath

They say death is just a part of life
And when we die we move on to a better place
And as comforting as that is meant to be
In no way does it heal the heartache
Looking at the spot where you used to sit
 Causes me so much pain
Just knowing that spot will forever be empty
God only knows if I will breathe right again

As I walk through these empty halls
 Your laughter follows me there
When I turn to see what has made you laugh
Im met instead with emptiness and despair
The Bible says I will see you again
But until that day comes around
I hold onto my sanity by the thinnest of threads
Oh this grief is all consuming and profound!
I am not living but existing
Wanting you so much to come back
I can barely stand the thought of living without you
Oh my God oh my God I just can't!

I heard time will heal all wounds
I am dying inside to know if its true
But until I am sure it's one day at a time
Until I get over the pain that is you
