Technology Weeps

Freedom's lost in the sands of compassion,
there's nowhere to go in this bleak desert,
except perhaps the realms of hungry dreams,
existence clings to skin; stretched taut with love.

Across the other side of spherical
imagination spirits flap their sighs;
fattened with impeccable charity.

I'm three steps from the first world's illusions,
perfection laughs at communication,
technology weeps at this naked plight,
another statistic which screams on screen.

Gather guilt's wings and smother cold concern
as another day approaches with greed
fastened to the colourful swirls in eyes.

Maybe tomorrow's fancy will ease pain,
here in the heat of the present's harsh touch,
capture my image while I splash sorrow,
underdeveloped tones whisper this soul.
