Spring
Clouds shed their tears
as April rains,
when winter wanes
and warmth abounds.
Dangling from eves
icicles melt,
and jagged shards
come crashing down.
Migrating birds
start flocking home,
fleeing far flung
sanctuaries.
And on the winds
of open sky,
caterpillars
try out their wings.
Uprooting dreams
of yesterday,
time sows the hopes
of tomorrow.
And blossoms bloom
to calls of loons,
ushering in
the first of spring.
