Shackles

Why must we endure so much pain
That our souls it will forever stain
Why is it when life is so great
That our joy will fastly desinagrate
How is it that no matter what there's always rules
To which people use as slavery tools
Why must there be an obstacle in our way
That to move forward we must eternally pay
How is that people find ways to terrorize others
That they are able to tear apart lovers
When will this madness ever end
When will the shackles finally bend
When will we destroy the final poacher
And when will we end this torture?

Jillian Veitenheimer

My writing is a way for things to flow out of me that I didn't even know was within me. By sharing it with all the other poets out there I can rebuild my strength in myself. I can free my soul and let it soar in the stars. Let the wind rip me free of the being that carries my emotions. Poetry is my heart beat. more…
