Regretfully Cannot Remember

It was sometime ago
 almost yesterday
Maybe a Saturday,
maybe a Sunday
But I regretfully
cannot remember...

I sat on his lap
he was a mountain
and I was a river
with chasms runneth deep
arms intertwined in a
death lock embrace
lips suffocating themselves
to silence

So loud was the breeze
upon the palm fronds
that it echoed on
the empty city street
and the starlight's reflection
upon the puddles
became dizzying
underneath our feet

Flirting with death and the
sin of undulating flesh
we hoped for what was
and never could be
for a moments rest
in a mindless bliss
and an architect god within
the concrete dust and mesh

This was sometime ago,
almost a few years
almost a few days
the only monument left
a hazy
almost fictitious memory
and a few initials carved
into a stump of a tree
It read something
That I
regretfully cannot
remember.
