Shattered bones and Twisted Tongues

With withered smiles
and desert eyes
we sit to reminisce
once again

Time has
shattered bones
and healed nay few
so, we arrive
to lick the
other's wounds

Lies are tossed
between
twisted tongues
to anticipate
the other's move..

Two fools are we,
you and I
enjoying this
tormented game-

One in love
and one that
is lost
both searching
for an
uncovered truth...

One hand is open
the other
a clenched fist
concealing the
rose within.
