My Immortal
A townhouse along the beach
a woman trying to escape an evil stepfather
a spoiled, narcissistic stepbrother,
for many years abused and molested her,
and in the step-family, many others
Young, beautiful, 24 years of age,
hid in safety for a while,
until stepdad found her, set her house ablaze
tried to burn her at the stake,
suffocating under the fires,
body charring, eyes sheading tears,
got saved by a scientist,
a biomedical engineer
Death was approaching,
Clock was ticking, she was dying
to save her life,
injected her with a mysterious concoction,
made of stem cells, nanites in suspended animation,
and 32 of the Earth's elements,
cold to the touch like nitrogen
She awoke hours later, somehow alive,
in her dance with death, she survived
"Don't worry, you're alright" he said,
I've injected you with a vaccine,
one that's brought you back to life,
healed you inside out in ways unseen,
take a look at your scars
they're all gone,
from the fire, blood, pus, and charred skin,
disappeared like magic,
skin glowing and radiant more than ever
true beauty shining through,
your hair,
still long, flowing beautifully
heart still beating normally
even your clothes and jewelry are fine too
You've been given more than a second chance,
a chance to be more than human,
nothing can hurt you,
you'll be forever young
you cannot age, cannot die,
just like me,
I love you,
been watching you for a long time,
love everything about you,
I hope you'll be mine,
my immortal
