Love of Strangers

There was light, blinding joy, uplifting grace
Have you seen it there?
Giving its warmth, soothing peace, a healthy glow
Has it touched you?
Turning frowns into smiles, chasing the winter's cold.

Time rushing forth over memories
Still fresh from the making, struggling
For their right to exist in the gloom
Of past pains held dear and close, love lost.

The greatest beauty of newborns is
The fresh soul unchained by pain and loss
To return to the womb, to be born fresh
Ready to feel the love of strangers.
