Good Fortune

I am a simple man, drifting thru both time and space
Wondering what might come tomorrow, on that different day.
I've held you in my arms and kissed you, eyes so filled with love
Tomorrow came and we had drifted in different ways
Being free and simple minded, I never cried out the lose
Yet friends gathered close, to ease my pain.
I cannot say I'm sorry; I have no time for useless tears
The face that stares back from the mirror is blank and free from fear
Why do you call me on the phone, I still can't say I care?
We each must live with all our choices, for all our days
I loved you when I loved you, those are sweet memories
And I still find a smile around the thoughts of yester-year
Please release me from your dreams now, let go those clutching hands
Life is an adventure, forward, for us all.
Goodbye to you my lovers
Goodbye my childhood friends
I wish you all good fortune in the end.
