Illusion

Once we were together.
I thought it would be forever.
But you surprised me and went too far.
Opening my soul and leaving an ugly scar.
Like a grape that falls off the vine.
I am moving along, leaving you behind.

With harsh words you tried hard to even the score.
But now you cannot hurt me anymore.
‘Fore I have learned time after time.
That love is just an illusion that hate hides behind.
