I'd Rather From Ten Stories Fall

I'd rather from ten stories fall
Than fall in love with no recall
I'd rather spend my life in jail
Than jail my dreams and let them fail
I'd rather be hit by a train
Than train my brain to be inane
I'd rather gender rearrange
Than engender a range for change
I'd rather pass a kidney stone
Than kid myself and pass alone
I'd rather have a root canal
Than root for the canals of hell
I'd rather have an eye poked out
Than poke around and have no clout
I'd rather set my house on fire
Than house or fire the country squire
I'd rather have a sordid past
Than sort the past when at half mast
I'd rather starve myself to death
Than starve death without length or breadth
